HIGHLIGHT ARTIST: milet (ミレイ)

milet (ミレイ) is a Japanese singer and songwriter under the label SME Records who debuted on March 6, 2019 with her first EP and title track ‘inside you’. She was born in Japan but raised in Canada. In 2018 after signing with the agency Sony Music Artists milet began her career as a Japanese soloist. In May of 2019 she followed up with her 2nd single ‘wonderland’ then released 3 more EP’s soon after: ‘us’, ‘Drown / You & I’, and ‘Prover / Tell Me’. On June 3, 2020 she released her first album ‘eyes’ which was produced by Toru Yamashita of ONE OK ROCK and MAN WITH A MISSION’s Kamikaze Boy, ‘eyes’ peaked at #1 on both Billboard Japan and Oricon charts and was certified gold with over 82,000 physical copies sold.

Since then she has released several more EP’s and her 2nd album ‘Visions’ with lead tracks including: ‘Who I Am’, ‘Checkmate’, ‘Ordinary Days’, ‘Flare’ and ‘Wake Me Up’. On December 17, 2021 she collaborated with Aimer and Ikuta Lilas (YOASOBI) for the single ‘Okomage’ produced by Vaundy. ‘Walkin’ In My Lane’ was released on May 25, 2022, the single peaked at #10 on Oricon charts and #25 on Billboard Japan, the song was ranked #1 for Big B Radio’s Mid-Year Top 40 JPOP Songs of 2022. milet most recently pre-released ‘Always You’ on August 10, 2022 . milet songs have reached Big B Radio’s Jpop Top Hour being voted for by our listeners and continue to top Japanese music charts.
