FEATURED ARTIST: FAKY (フェイキー)

FAKY (フェイキー) is a 5 member Japanese girl group who debuted July 29th, 2013 under Avex Trax (home of other artists like Tokyo Girls’ Style, AAA, Ayumi Hamasaki, SM Entertainment Artists, YG Entertainment Artists and formerly Namie Amuro, etc..). Their name was created by the words ‘Fantastic’ and ‘Tokyo’ but also stands for "Five Ass Kicking Youngsters". They debuted as the 5 member group with the original line-up consisting of Anna (アンナ), Diane (ダイアン), Tina (ティナ), Mikako and Lil’Fang with the song ‘Better Without You’. On May 28th, 2014 their first album was released.

The group would go on hiatus for a year and return in October 2015 with the songs ‘Afterglow’, ‘You’ and the hit song ‘CANDY’. During the hiatus the line-up would change, a new member ‘Akina’ was introduced and the announcement of ‘Diane’ and ‘Tina’ leaving the group. Their second EP ‘CANDY’ was released May 11th, 2016.

November of 2018 member ‘Anna’ announced her departure from the group. Members ‘Taki’ and ‘Hina’ soon joined the group. Since 2018 the current line-up consists of the 5 members (Lil’Fang (リル・ファング), Mikako (ミカコ), Akina (ヒナ), Hina (アキナ) and Taki (タキ)). The group would release several hits including ‘Surrender, Antidote, New Age, half-moon, Darling, and little more’, as well as their most recent singles ‘The Light and 99’.

Several of their songs has been voted for and aired on Big B Radio’s JPOP TOP HOUR Weekly Charts.The song ‘99’ recently hit #3 on April 14th and reached #1 on April 21st, 2021 on the show.
